Are granite counterktops heat resistant?
Granite is actually one of the most heat resistant materials available so it makes sense that we would use it for kitchen countertops. A hot pan placed directly onto a granite worktop should not cause a problem.
Can you scratch granite worktops?
Granite is an igneous rock, formed from molten lava from a volcano. It is actually a blend of quartz and feldspar, which makes it incredibly hard and durable. Granite countertops can be resistant to the normal wear and tear of a kitchen, including any scuffing or scratching. As well as this, once granite is polished it is usually resistant to normal household substances such as citrus or vinegar. Granite worktops are very popular with our customers in and around Guildford for this very reason.
Are granite worktops available in different colours?
There are many different colours of granite, depending on what other substances were present when the stone was formed. For example, if there was muscovite present when the stone was forming, this produces a metallic gold or yellow coloured stone. We can provide granite countertops in a wide range of colours for our customers in Guildford. Because the different colours and textures are naturally occurring within the granite, there are often beautiful, intricate patterns that make each piece of granite unique. In fact, no two pieces of granite will be exactly the same.
Can you make granite worktop to fit my kitchen?
Yes! Here at Margrasil we have years of experience in designing, creating and fitting granite worktops in Guildford and the surrounding area, and we pride ourselves on doing an excellent job every time.
Our designers and masons will work closely with you to design the right kitchen worktop to fulfil your requirements. We will then produce a full size replica in hardboard so that you can visualise exactly how your new granite worktop will look in your kitchen. Only when you are 100% happy with the design will we begin to cut the granite to make your bespoke kitchen worktop.
